Honor 8X Max will be known as Huawei Enjoy Max in some markets

Image
Huawei's sub-brand  Honor unveiled  the huge  8X Max  last month alongside the smaller  Honor 8X . Now it looks like the Honor 8X Max will be launched under a different name in some markets. Meet the Huawei Enjoy Max. The leaked press images of the handset were outed today by Evan Blass, aka  @evleaks . As you'd expect in the case of a mere rebranding, the Enjoy Max looks exactly like the Honor 8X Max, save for Huawei's logo being plastered onto it instead of Honor's. Oh, and there's also the fake leather-like stitching on the back, which you surely noticed. The Enjoy Max eschews the glassy back of the 8X Max and goes with this faux retro look instead. The material definitely looks grippier, and fans of stitching on the back of phones will surely be very happy to see this. It's unclear if Huawei is planning to alter the 8X Max's internals in any way when it launches the Enjoy Max. Here's a refresher of what you should expect in terms of specs.

Lenovo is adding a new device to its smartphone portfolio, the company has just revealed on Weibo. The Chinese manufacturer will introduce the new Lenovo S5 Pro at a dedicated event in Beijing, China in exactly seven days. The new phone will come with dual selfie cameras, raising the number of total snappers up to four, an upgrade from the regular  Lenovo S5  with one selfie shooter and a dual main setup. The image posted by Lenovo says the new phone will have “a pair of eyes to find your inner beauty”, clearly suggesting both cameras pictured will provide extra features for the beloved by many Portrait Mode. We are yet to learn more about the specs of the Lenovo S5 Pro, but we hope to see something better than the 5.7” 18:9 LCD panel on the Lenovo S5, a mightier Snapdragon chipset and more RAM than the regular S5. The S5 Pro is not the only expected smartphone from Lenovo - we are also waiting for  the slider Z5 Pro  with  four cameras on the back  to be announced later th

Huawei Mate 20 and 20 Pro Polish prices revealed

Image
We are less than a week away from the announcement of the Huawei Mate 20 and  20 Pro  on  October 16  but rumors just don't seem to be slowing down. Today's one is all about prices and it comes from a Polish tech website that got a hold of the pricing for both handsets from a local carrier. According to  Android.com.pl , the Mate 20 and Mate 20 Pro will cost PLN 2,999 and PLN 4,299, respectively, which equates to around $800 and $1,149. Pretty steep pricing for the Pro version, isn't it? Well, we can't be absolutely sure of those prices, but the website claims they are on point and got them from  Plus  - a Polish carrier. The article also mentions that Polish taxes have played a role here so prices around Europe could differ just a little. And interestingly enough, the digits seem to be in line with the  Swiss price leak  earlier this month so we have another reason to believe that they are accurate.

We have been hearing about a Samsung event called “4x Fun” for quite some time. Although we expected a smartphone with four cameras, we were quite impressed to learn that all of the sensors are actually on the back, lined in a vertical setup. The phone will be called Galaxy A9 (2018) and will be launched in Kuala Lumpur later today, and you can follow the event live. The four cameras will all have a different purpose - there’ll be an ultra-wide snapper, a telephoto lens, the main camera is 24 MP f/1.7, and there is also a 5 MP shooter for good measure. Oh yeah, and the selfie snapper is also expected to be 24 MP, but with a f/2.0 aperture. Tune in at 5 PM MYT / 11 AM CEST to follow the event and to learn everything about the devices, including pricing and availability.

OnePlus 6T in-display fingerprint reader will be optical, OnePlus confirms

Image
OnePlus 6T 's standout feature is undoubtedly the in-display fingerprint reader but just like everyone else out there, we are wondering if it's going to be any good. After all, the technology hasn't matured yet and makers need some time to perfect it to make it work just as good as a regular scanner. To clear some of the confusion, OnePlus just confirmed that the phone will be using an optical type of fingerprint reader. If this doesn't ring any bells, let us clarify. According to most,  ultrasonic fingerprint readers  are more accurate than optical ones due to the fact that ultrasound can reach ridges and pores establishing a more complete 3D image of your fingertip. However, if done right, the optical fingerprint can be just as fast. But don't get your hopes up too high. As we all know, OnePlus is part of BBK Electronics - a corporation that markets Oppo and vivo smartphones as well. These manufacturers share technologies and hardware so it's probably

Samsung has at least 14 new devices in the works alongside its future flagships

Image
Samsung’s recent struggles in China are certainly no secret, and neither are its plans to revamp its smartphone strategy entirely – the company is set to replace its popular Galaxy J series with a number of  new smartphone lines  – but today one important has emerged online confirming the sheer scale of the company’s plans. According to a reliable source, Samsung is already working on a total of 14 new smartphones for the Chinese market. These will all debut at some point in 2019 and will presumably be launched either as part of the Galaxy A series or as part of the brand’s new lineups. This means that certain offerings will likely cover the low-end segment of the market while others will cover all mid-range options. When it comes to flagship smartphones, though, Samsung is expected to stick to its traditional Galaxy S and Galaxy Note releases, in addition to the  upcoming Galaxy F . Unsurprisingly, individual details about these devices are still unknown as their release dates
